Equiano’s daughter Belvoir Bay won her second consecutive Stakes race and sixth Stakes race in total, when landing the 61/2f Grade 3 San Simeon Stakes at Santa Anita on Sunday 29th April.

Equiano’s daughter Belvoir Bay won her fifth Stakes race when landing the Mizdirection Stakes on the 6.5f hillside turf course at Santa Anita on Sunday 25th March. The success was all the more remarkable as it was Belvoir Bay’s first race back since surviving the fires at the San Luis Rey Downs training facility in San Diego in December 2017.

It’s not too late to book a nomination to Equiano, a consistent source of tough, high-class sprinters. Standing at just £8,000 he represents great value for a Gr.1 producing son of Acclamation.

The Cheltenham Festival once again brought unexpected success to Newsells Park Stud, with several horses bred by the stud in the winners circle. On Thursday 15th March, both the first and second in the Gr.1 Stayer's Hurdle Penhill and Supasundae were bred by Newsells.

Newsells Park Stud is delighted that the dam of the outstanding filly Enable will return to be covered by Nathaniel in 2018. Bred by Juddmonte Farms, Enable is the fourth generation bred by Prince Khalid being out of the Stakes winning mare Concentric (Sadler’s Wells).

The ultra consistent son of Nathaniel, Chasedown, added yet another Stakes success to his form at the weekend when landing the Listed Pr. U.N.I.R.E at Napoli on Sunday 17th December.

The outstanding three-year-old filly Enable was named the Cartier Horse of the Year at the 27th annual Cartier Racing Awards last night. She also took the Three-Year-Old Filly category. From Nathaniel's first Classic crop of three-year-olds, Enable recorded five consecutive Gr.1 victories in 2017.
