Impressive first winner for Without Parole with Mr Chaplin

17/05/2024

Without Parole enjoyed his first winner today with the two-year-old Mr Chaplin landing the competitive ARC & Sky Sports Racing Support Starlight Maiden Stakes at Newbury by three lengths.

Royal Ascot is now the target given his impressive victory for trainer Ralph Beckett and owners Michael Rembaum & Tanya Rembaum.

Mr Chaplin was prominent throughout the race, leading over one furlong out to run on clear and with plenty of pace inside the final furlong, with his experience from his debut race proving beneficial.

Trainer Ralph Beckett said: “He’s a nice horse, we like him. He went to Newmarket first to have some education and the form has worked out well. He’s a Royal Ascot two-year-old for sure.”

Jockey Rossa Ryan commented: “He has an unreal turn of foot!”

A half-brother to Stakes winner Mubtasimah, Mr Chaplin was bred by Silfield Bloodstock, and is out of the Anabaa mare Midnight Hush, a sister to Gr.3 sprinter Miss Anabaa from the family of Gr.1 July Cup winner Owington.

The colt was purchased for 120,000gns at the Tattersalls October Sale Book 1 by bloodstock agent Alex Elliott.

His sire Without Parole was the winner of the prestigious Gr.1 St James’s Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot, and is the fastest son of Frankel. His first two-year-olds are running in 2024.
