Philippa Cooper’s Normandie Stud is renowned for breeding and racing many Group horses including Duncan, Fallen For You, Sultanina, Samuel and Loving Things. In addition to breeding triple Gr.1 winner Hurricane Lane, Glorious Journey, Serve The King and Mohaafeth.
Previous mares sold by Normandie Stud are Gale Force the dam of Hurricane Lane, and Tyranny carrying triple Gr.1 winning 2yo and high-class sire Zoffany in utero. Within Normandie Stud’s 2022 dispersal are mares and foals from the outstanding families of Agnus, Fallen Star and Foodbroker Fancy.
Eight mares feature in the Tattersalls Sceptre Sessions with six from Normandie Stud, led by the Galileo mare, Gretchen, winner of the Gr.2 Park Hill Stakes and dam of 2022 Stakes winner Lionel. In-foal to Pinatubo, she is out of Dolores, also the dam of Gr.1 Irish St Leger winner Duncan and Gr.2 Doncaster Cup winner Samuel (Lot 1903).
Also from the Dolores family is Judith (Almanzor), a Stakes performer out of a sister to Duncan, Samuel and Gretchen (Lot 1898), plus the Stakes winning mare Fleur Forsyte (Teofilo) in-foal to Sea The Stars (Lot 1901).
The Fallen Star family is represented by the French Gr.3 winner and multiple Group placed, Loving Things, a Pivotal half-sister to US Gr.2 winner Serve The King also in-foal to Sea The Stars (Lot 1899). In addition to Love Is You, a Kingman half-sister to triple Gr.2 winner Glorious Journey out of Gr.1 Coronation Stakes winner Fallen For You, offered in-foal to St Mark’s Basilica (Lot 1900).
Other mares covered by elite stallions being offered by Normandie Stud are the Stakes winner French Dressing (Sea The Stars), dam of 2021 Gr.3 winner Mohaafeth from the family of Foodbroker Fancy and Sultanina, in-foal to Frankel (Lot 1902).
Newsells Park Stud is also consigning a mare from their very successful ‘W’ family, Waldfabel in-foal to Palace Pier. She is a Frankel half-sister to Gr.1 Classic St Leger winner Masked Marvel and Gr.3 winner Waldlerche, dam of 4-time Gr.1 winner Waldgeist (Lot 1864).
Another highlight of the Newsells consignment to feature in the Sceptre Sessions is the French Stakes winning mare Moon A Lisa (Sea The Moon) out of an own sister to Saffron Walden in-foal to Wootton Bassett (Lot 1863).
