Many congratulations to our stallion man David Porter-Mackrell who has deservedly reached the finalists stage for the Stud Staff Award of the 2024 Thoroughbred Industry Employee Awards, sponsored by Godolphin.

The winner of each award will be announced at Ascot Racecourse on Monday 26th February in a celebration of the skill, passion and commitment of people working across British racing and breeding, with guest of honour Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal.

David has been a key member of the team at Newsells Park Stud for many years having looked after the stallions Mount Nelson and Equiano during his time here, and currently his charges are Nathaniel, Without Parole and A’Ali. David has always shown great dedication and expertise in his role, and still has a particularly soft spot for Mount Nelson who retired to stud 15 years ago.

We wish him all the best with the final round of judging held on the same day of the evening ceremony, to be hosted by ITV Racing’s Ed Chamberlin.
