Second Stakes victory for Manaccan and Ossie Ardiles Syndicate

02/10/2022

Manaccan enjoyed another Stakes success in winning the Listed Rous Stakes over 5f at Ascot yesterday for the Newsells Park Stud – Ossie Ardiles Syndicate.

Trainer John Ryan said: “I think he’s a serious horse over 5f and he’ll be even better on quicker ground. We’ll hopefully go to Dundalk for a Group 3 on October 21 next and then we’ll see – he could be one of the best I’ve trained.”

The three-year-old colt by Exceed And Excel was following up his victory in the Listed Cazoo Scarbrough Stakes at Doncaster in September having won the Dubai Duty Free Shergar Cup Dash at Ascot and also being placed in the Listed Hopeful Stakes at Newmarket. He has now amassed over £140,000 in prize money.

Manaccan is one of several horses that the Ossie Ardiles Syndicate have in training, others include the two-year-old, Perfect Play, winner of the British Stallion Studs EBF Novice Stakes at Carlisle last week, and dual winner Espressoo.

This venture marks further evolvement of Newsells Park Stud since the acquisition of the stud by Graham Smith-Bernal in 2021.

The aim of the racing syndicate is to offer shareholders a fun and special experience of racehorse ownership, from seeing their horses training on the gallops to exciting days out on racecourses across Europe, as well as enjoying social gatherings at the Newsells Park manor and other venues.
