New Gr.2 winner making all in Cologne

The Newsells Park Stud bred Dato made all to win the Gr.2 Carl Jaspers Preis at Cologne Racecourse yesterday, for trainer Sascha Smrczek and owner Stall Grafenberg.

By the late and previous Newsells Park Stud sire Mount Nelson, Dato won by three quarters of a length in this 1m4f race. It was the biggest victory of this six-year-old’s career having previously won three Listed races.

Dato is one of three winners out of the French Listed winner Dear Lavinia (Grand Slam), a half-sister to American Gr.3 winner and Gr.2-placed Dream Awhile.
