Nathaniel’s run of success continued with a first and second in the Gr.3 Czech Derby at Velka Chuchle in Prague on Saturday 21st June. Pacific Hill landed the 2400m race in a close finish with his other son Angkor Wat.

Owned by Jiri Posad and trained by Radek Holcak, the three-year-old Pacific Hill was bred and sold by Newsells’ sister stud in Germany, Gestut Fahrhof, and is out of the winning mare Paulaya (Peintre Celebre).  Trained by Josef Vana, Angkor Wat is out of the mare Flower Bowl (Anabaa) and was bred by Berend Van Dalfsen.

The one-two capped a fantastic week for Nathaniel, with Dashing Willoughby winning the Gr.2 Queen’s Vase at Royal Ascot and Channel claiming a second Classic success for her sire when landing the Gr.1 Prix de Diane (French Oaks) at Chantilly on Sunday 16th June.
