An impressive turn of foot ensured Ruff Justice landed in style the Raymond Collett 70th Birthday Memorial EBF Restricted Maiden Fillies Stakes at Great Yarmouth Racecourse by two and a quarter lengths.
It was the fourth first-crop winner for her sire Without Parole. Trained by Warren Greatrex and ridden by his son Edward Greatrex, she showed the benefit of her debut 18 days earlier to improve considerably for owners Jim And Claire Ltd.
Bred by A H Bennet out of the winning Dubawi mare Curtains she is a half-sister to several winners including the 14-time victor Redarna. Ruff Justice was a shrewd purchase by Highflyer Bloodstock at the Tattersalls Craven Breeze-Up Sales for 25,000gns consigned by Sherbourne Lodge, having been sold by Newsells Park Stud as a yearling.
Ruff Justice is the second winner this week for Without Parole following Liberty Bird’s success at Beverley.
This exciting first-crop sire will also be represented by the winning filly Fiery Lucy in tomorrow’s Gr.2 Airlie Stud Stakes at the Curragh.
