First Stakes winner for Newsells Park Stud – Ossie Ardiles Syndicate

08/09/2022

The new Newsells Park Stud – Ossie Ardiles Syndicate enjoyed their first Stakes winner yesterday with Manaccan landing the Listed Cazoo Scarbrough Stakes over 5f at Doncaster.

The three-year-old colt by Exceed And Excel is a progressive young sprinter having now accumulated over £105,000 in prize money and winning three races. In August he also won the Dubai Duty Free Shergar Cup Dash at Ascot and finished third in the Listed Hopeful Stakes at Newmarket just ten days ago.

Trainer John Ryan said: “I think a lot of Manaccan, we always have, and he’s the best one I’ve had for a while. His ideal trip is five as he’s got a high cruising speed and a turn of foot and I think he’s going to be a better horse next year.”

Manaccan is one of several horses that the Ossie Ardiles Syndicate have in training, others include the two-year-old, Perfect Play, winner of the British Stallion Studs EBF Novice Stakes at Carlisle last week, and dual winner Espressoo. Both are also bred by Newsells Park Stud.

This venture marks further evolvement of Newsells Park Stud since the acquisition of the stud by Graham Smith-Bernal in 2021.

The aim of the racing syndicate is to offer shareholders a fun and special experience of racehorse ownership, from seeing their horses training on the gallops to exciting days out on racecourses across Europe.  As well as enjoying social gatherings such as the fun Argentinian themed barbeque held over the bank holiday weekend at Newsells Park.
