Double black-type success in Germany for Nathaniel progeny


It was a successful day in Germany for progeny by Nathaniel with Understated winning her second black-type race taking the Listed Grosser Preis Von Rossmann over 1m2f at Hannover for her new trainer Andreas Wohler and owner Australian Bloodstock Stable.

Shortly after in Munich, the three-year-old colt Alleno gained his first black-type performance finishing second in the 1m2f Gr.3 Bavarian Classic for trainer Marcel Weiss and owner/breeder Gestut Hot Ittlingen. He is a new Stakes horse for Nathaniel who is now the sire of 8 Gr.1 winners and 71 Stakes winners or performers worldwide.

In 2023, Understated won the Listed Prix Solitude at Saint-Cloud as a three-year-old and was second in the Listed Height Of Fashion Stakes at Goodwood when trained by Ralph Beckett.

Bred by Al Shahania Stud, Understated is out of the Makfi mare Catalyst, a daughter of the Gr.1 Moyglare Stud Stakes and Gr.2 Lowther Stakes winner Bianca Nera. Bianca Nera is the dam of three Listed performers and grandam of Gr.1 winners Postponed and God Given

Alleno is a half-brother to four time Stakes winner/performer Alessio out of Alandia (Adlerflug), a half-sister to Gr.1 Prix du Cadran winner Altano and Gr.1 performer Araldo.
