Pearled Majesty made all to triumph in the Gr.2 Prix Eugene Adam over 10f at Saint Cloud today for trainer Mauricio Delcher Sanchez who joint owns him with Mme Christiane Head.

Homebred by Newsells Park Stud in partnership with Fittocks Stud, the three-year-old broke smartly under Christophe Soumillon and kept on strongly to outclass his rivals comfortably by two and a half lengths. A race also won by numerous classy horses including last year’s Gr.1 Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe winner Daryz. Pearled Majesty will now have an autumn campaign geared around the Arc.

“I rode him with plenty of confidence,” said Soumillon. “He soon relaxed and today he showed he is capable of winning a very good race.”

Trainer Mauricio Delcher Sanchez added: “The Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe is an option. Christophe thinks he’s very comfortable at 10 furlongs, but I believe he can also do well over long distances. He has a very big stride and doesn’t tire when galloping like that. We were confident beforehand, even though it was no easy task facing a trio Fabre horses.”

Joint owner Criquette Head said: “Pearled Majesty has been ridden like that from the start and unfortunately it didn’t turn out well in the Jockey Club, but that’s racing. Today he was able to show the full extent of his talent.”

Pearled Majesty was following up an impressive victory in the Gr.3 Prix Noailles at ParisLongchamp in April on his Stakes debut.

A son of Persian King, Pearled Majesty is the second foal out of Perle d’Auge (Le Havre), an unraced half-sister to dual Gr.3 winner Eternal Pearl, while his second dam, Pearly Steph, is a half-sister to Gr.1 Matron Stakes heroine Pearls Galore. His half-sister Three Pearls was runner-up in the Listed Prix de Thiberville.
