Joyful Tidings for A’Ali with another first-crop winner

24/04/2025

A’Ali struck with his second first-crop winner today as Joyful Tidings readily landed the Irish EBF Median Sires Series Maiden at Tipperary on debut.

The two-year-old colt was prominent from the start and justified strong support to win by one and three quarter lengths for trainer Gavin Cromwell, and owner/breeders the Dunphy Family and Eric Cantillon. He looks an exciting prospect to follow this season.

He is out of the Dawn Approach mare Maajmeh Dawn, a half-sister to Dee Stakes victor Viren’s Army. From the family of three-time Gr.1 winning sire Bigstone, the second dam is the Stakes placed Blue Angel, a half-sister to Gr.3 winner Empowering, dam of Gr.2 Royal Lodge Stakes winner Mohawk.

A’Ali has now enjoyed two winners from just three runners, with his other star being Ali Shuffle, a winner of both her starts and is now being aimed at the Listed Marygate Stakes, with Royal Ascot hopefully thereafter.

A’Ali’s first crop were also popular at the Tattersalls Craven Breeze Up Sale with his first breezer realising 100,000gns, a colt out of Ellery Lane sold to Ger Lyons Racing consigned by CF Bloodstock.

As a smart and fast juvenile having won three Gr.2 races as a two-year-old including the Norfolk Stakes at Royal Ascot, Prix Robert Papin and Flying Childers, A’Ali is proving an exciting first-crop sire so far with his first runners. The son of a Champion First-Season Sire in Society Rock, A’Ali stands at Newsells Park Stud for £5,000 1st Oct SLF.
