The fastest son of Frankel. Winner of the prestigious Gr.1 St James’s Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot.
Nathaniel continued his good run of success today with a new Gr.2 winner and three-year-old Classic colt prospect.
Bubble Gift stormed home to land the Gr.2 Prix Hocquart over 2200m at ParisLongchamp. The colt will now head for Gr.1 races following his victory in this French Derby Classic trial for trainer Mikel Delzangles and owner Zak Bloodstock.
Trainer Mikel Delzangles said: “Bubble Gift is an improving horse, but he’s still immature and learning as he goes along. It’s good that I was able to get a run into him as a two-year-old and he learnt a lot on that occasion. I thought he had the ability to get placed today and then go to the Gr.3 Prix du Lys. We can still run in that race, where he wouldn’t have to carry a penalty for this win, or wait for the Gr.1 Grand Prix de Paris. There is also the possibility of supplementing him for the Gr.1 Prix du Jockey Club, but the trip could be too sharp for him. We shall see and will come to a decision in good time.”
Jockey Gérald Mossé was obviously delighted and said: “He appreciates this terrain, as well as the distance. He keeps improving and hasn’t shown everything yet. He’s very good, but he doesn’t know it yet!”
A half-brother to Gr.3 winner and Gr.1 performer Bubble Chic and Stakes performer/producer Queen Bubble, Bubble Gift is out of the Grand Lodge mare Bubble Back, and bred by A Hakam.
Nathaniel has now sired two new Stakes winners in as many days following Nationalista‘s victory yesterday, plus earlier this month Nathaniel’s progeny Lady Bowthorpe and Mutamakina won and were placed in Gr.2 races respectively.
