The fastest son of Frankel. Winner of the prestigious Gr.1 St James’s Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot.
It was celebrations all round yesterday evening at Newsells Park Stud when Elody Swann won the stud staff category at the Godolphin Stud and Stable Staff Awards.
Elody has been a dedicated, kind and diligent member of the team at Newsells Park Stud for nearly 17 years, since moving from her native France where she worked with showjumping ponies. However, the breeding industry has always been her passion and she has never looked back since joining the stud.
Outside of running a barn of 28 mares and foals during the season, Elody runs one of the two barns for yearling prep and takes overall responsibility for foal prep. She can always be trusted to guide new members of staff and ensure they are happy and enjoy their work, whilst maintaining the very highest of standards at all times.
Julian Dollar, general manager, said: “I was thrilled for Elody, she’s somebody that has been with us for quite a long time – 17 years to be precise – and there’s very few people who are more dedicated or passionate.
“She loves her horses and would do anything for them, from the moment she looks after them as newborn foals to taking them through the yearling sales and then following their careers thereafter.
“People like Elody, who are so dedicated to their jobs, deserve that recognition and I think it reflects well on the rest of her colleagues here who make my life very easy. I’m very lucky to have them.
“It’s nice to be able to recognise one but I’d like to think it’s a recognition for all of them.”
