Timely Stakes win for Newsells DBS graduate

Gerfalcon provided a timely victory for Newsells Park Stud yearlings when landing the Listed Ripon Champion Two-Year-Old Trophy yesterday.

This Hawk Wing colt was bred, raised and sold by Newsells at the DBS Premier Sales last year for 35,000gns when knocked down to Jane Allison for trainer Brian Meehan and owner Michael Buckley.

Donít miss the Newsells Park Stud yearling consignment at Doncaster this week for your chance to purchase a top-class two-year-old and to win an extra £10,000 Newsells Golden Bonus.  All are out of Stakes producing or performing mares, with four yearlings by Newsellsí resident dual Gr.1 winning stallion Mount Nelson.

A Group 1 winning two-year-old himself, Mount Nelsonís yearlings are sure to be popular.  They include a scopey half-sister to the smart, Stakes winning filly, Miss Work of Art, who was sold by Newsells Park at Doncaster last year (Lot 231), in addition to a precocious eye-catching filly bred on a similar cross to her half-sister, Ares Choix, who was Stakes placed at two (Lot 47).

The two colts by Mount Nelson with Stakes winning siblings include one of the finest colts of Newsells Park Studís yearling crop this year, a half-brother and similarly bred to multiple Stakes winner and Group performer, Deauville Vision (Lot 25); as well as a cracking half-brother to Stakes winner, Queen Amira and dual juvenile winner, Gin Genereaux.  This colt has inherited his sireís presence and athletic step (Lot 233).

The Newsells Park Stud yearling consignment also includes a real Donny type colt by Holy Roman Emperor out of the dual Gr.1 winner Janet, whose two-year-old by Galileo made 400,000gns as a yearling at Tattersalls and is in training with Sir Michael Stoute (Lot 211).  Another yearling out of a Gr.1 winner is a half-sister to three winners by Nayef out of the Moyglare Stakes winner Mail The Desert (Lot 259).

Making up the draft is a strong Notnowcato half-sister to the dual listed placed speedster, Smooch, and a host of other talented winners from a mare whose progeny record reads 6 runners, 6 winners (Lot 462); as well as a yearling filly out of Smooch herself by the consistently successful, Royal Applause (Lot 408).

We look forward to greeting buyers, old and new, at the DBS Premier Sales.
