Three Winners in Four Days for Nathaniel

10/04/2017 Nathaniel

Impressive recent three-year-old winners Enjoy Vijay, Flight Of Fantasy and Falcon Wings made a great start to an exciting season ahead for second-season sire Nathaniel.

On Sunday 9th April Enjoy Vijay comfortably won the Preis des Xtip Flagshipstore Duisburg at Dusseldorf. The colt looked very promising as a two-year-old as well when finishing third in the Group 3 Herzog Von Ratibor-Rennen for trainer Peter Schiergen and owner Gestüt Ittlingen.

Bred by Gestüt Fahrhof, he is the first foal of the Stakes winning mare Enjoy The Life (Medicean), and holds an entry in the Gr.1 Deutsches Derby.

On Friday 7th April the three-year-old filly Flight Of Fantasy landed the Kibworth Maiden Stakes (Plus 10 Race) at Leicester for trainer Harry Dunlop and owner PA Deal and G Lowe.  In addition, the second placed horse in the race Face The Facts was by Nathaniel, and trained by John Gosden for owner George Strawbridge.

Jockey Richard Kingscot said: "Flight Of Fantasy is probably still a bit green. When the second went by she had something to lock into and came back well. Although she has had three runs this was her first on grass and around a track like this she will have learnt a bit."

Bred by Hermes Services, she is a half-sister to the Gr.2 Goldikova Stakes winner Rhythm Of Light (Beat Hollow) and the Stakes placed Lazy Afternoon (Hawk Wing).

The first winner of the three was Falcon Wings in the Prix Magister (Conditions) at Saint-Cloud on Thursday 6th April for trainer Nicolas Clement and owner Muteb Bin Abdullah.
