"Your passion is to race exceptional thoroughbreds capable of competing at the highest level on the international racing circuit. Our challenge is to breed these athletes for you."
The Newsells Park Stud bred and consigned, Western Hymn, battled well in a thrilling finish to win the Group 3 Ormonde Stakes at Chester from last year's Epsom Derby runner up US Army Ranger.
Western Hymn has been a great campaigner for his connections, trainer John Gosden and owners RJH Geffen and Rachel Hood, winning over £600,000 in prize money for them.
The six-year-old gelding has previously won the Group 2 Prix Eugene Adam, the Group 3 Brigadier Gerard Stakes, Gordon Richards Stakes and Classic Trial at Sandown. He has also finished third in the Group 1 Coral Eclipse and Prince of Wales's Stakes.
By High Chaparral, Western Hymn is out of Blue Rhapsody (Cape Cross), a half-sister to the triple Gr.3 winner Fantasia (Sadler's Wells), and a grand-daughter of Champion 2yo filly Blue Duster.
