More Stakes success and winners for Nathaniel’s first-crop

Nathaniel's first-crop continued to make their mark on the racecourse in the last few days, with another new Stakes performer and two three-year-old winners.

On Sunday 11th June, Chasedown finished third in the Listed Premio Merano over 1m2f in Milan for trainer Stefano Botti and owner/breeder Scuderia Effevi SRL.  A winner earlier this year, this three-year-old colt is out of Whipcla (Whipper), from a family with significant Italian black-type, including Gr.1 winners Jakkalberry and Crackerjack King.

Back in the UK at Haydock on Friday 9th June, God Given comfortably won her Maiden by 4 lengths for trainer Luca Cumani and owner/breeder St Albans Bloodstock.  This three-year-old filly looks an exciting prospect for the season ahead, and has plenty to live up to being the half-sister to the multiple Gr.1 winner Postponed.

Another filly to break her Maiden was Lightening Dance, who won the NSPCC Speak Out Stay Safe Maiden Fillies' Stakes over 1m2f at Goodwood on 11th June for trainer Amanda Perrett and owner/breeder Mrs Alexandra J Chandris. A half-sister to Stakes winners Live Concert and Charleston Lady, she is open to improvement and is another one to follow for her sire Nathaniel.

Newsells Park Stud's sire Nathaniel has now sired 8 Group or Stakes winners or performers this year from his first-crop, led by the Group 1 Investec Oaks winner Enable.
