Four quality yearlings offered at the DBS Premier Sales

21/08/2013 Equiano wins the King's Stand Stakes

Newsells Park Stud will be consigning four yearlings at the DBS Premier Sales on 27th and 28th August.

Two of the yearlings are by resident sire Equiano, dual winner of the King’s Stand Stakes (Gr.1) at Royal Ascot as a three-year-old and five-year-old.   One is a cracking filly out of a 96 rated, five-time-winning sprinter, who is a half-sister to dual Gr.1 winning sprinter, Reverence (Lot 5); and the other is a lovely, balanced filly out of the Eternal Stakes (L) winner, Clifton Dancer (Lot 387).    Equiano will be represented by 19 yearlings at this sale, which is renowned for featuring precocious two-year-old types.

The Newsells Park Stud consignment also includes an attractive and very athletic filly from the second crop of leading second-season sire, Mount Nelson, sire of top class 2yos, Purr Along and Berkshire.  Out of Sakhee’s Song this filly is a half-sister to Gr.2 Mill Reef placed Taayel (OR: 108) (Lot 182).

Another yearling related to a Stakes horse is a smart filly from the first crop of dual Classic winner, Lope de Vega and a half-sister to several winners, most notably multiple Stakes winner and Group placed, St. Moritz (Lot 232).
