Foaling season continues with progeny related to Waldgeist and Shastye born

30/03/2020 Waldlied foal by Kingman

Despite uncertain times, the foaling season continues as well as the stallions covering their books of mares.  The safety and well-being of our staff and thoroughbreds in our care is paramount and to this end the stud are closely following the guidelines set out by the TBA and the NSFA, both of which are following government and BHA guidelines.

On a lighter note, recent foals bred by Newsells Park Stud include the Gr.1 two-year-old performing mare Lady Darshaan (High Chaparral) foaling a colt by Siyouni this weekend.  Another colt by Siyouni born in March was the first foal for Waldlied (New Approach), a three-parts sister to Waldgeist (pictured).

Also Gr.2 Duke of Cambridge Stakes winner, Alijazzi (Shamardal), gave birth to her first foal, a filly by the great Galileo complete with ‘jazzy’ star on her knee (see picture below).

Foals born to date with Stakes winning siblings include a half-sister to four-time Gr.1 and Arc de Triomphe winner Waldgeist by Dubawi out of Waldlerche (Monsun), a half-brother to Aljezeera by Cracksman out of Dynaforce (Dynaformer), and a half-sister to to Esquisse and Pilote by Mastercraftsman out of Legerete (Rahy).

In addition, three daughters of the great mare Shastye (Danehill), dam of Japan, Secret Gesture and Mogul, all had foals earlier this year.  Secret Gaze (Galileo) gave birth to a filly by Lope de Vega, Secret Sense (Shamardal) foaled a filly by Kingman, and Secret Soul (Street Cry) had a cracking bay colt by the stud’s resident sire Nathaniel
