First €10,000 Newsells Golden Bonus winner

February yearlings in sunlight

First €10,000 Newsells Golden Bonus winner

First to be drawn from the buyers of Newsells yearlings at Arqana Deauville to potentially win the €10,000 Newsells Golden Bonus was KK Eishindo.  However, with the Dalakhani yearling he purchased off to Japan, Mark Crossman was the next lucky buyer to be drawn.  Mark is now in with a chance to win the Golden Bonus should the Mount Nelson yearling he purchased for €120,000 go on to win a race eligible for the Racing Post Bonus or class B race in France.

A Group 1 winning two-year-old himself, Mount Nelson's yearlings are also sure to be popular at the DBS Premier Sales with all four consigned by Newsells Park Stud siblings of Group/Stakes winners or performers.

These include a scopey half-sister to the smart, Stakes winning filly, Miss Work of Art, who was sold by Newsells Park at Doncaster last year (Lot 231), in addition to a precocious eye-catching filly bred on a similar cross to her half-sister, Ares Choix, who was Stakes placed at two (Lot 47).

The two colts by Mount Nelson with Stakes winning siblings include one of the finest colts of Newsells Park Studís yearling crop this year, a half-brother and similarly bred to multiple Stakes winner and Group performer, Deauville Vision (Lot 25); as well as a cracking half-brother to Stakes winner, Queen Amira and dual juvenile winner, Gin Genereaux.  This colt has inherited his sireís presence and athletic step (Lot 233).

The Newsells Park Stud yearling consignment also includes a real Donny type colt by Holy Roman Emperor out of the dual Gr.1 winner Janet, whose two-year-old by Galileo made 400,000gns as a yearling at Tattersalls and is in training with Sir Michael Stoute (Lot 211).  Another yearling out of a Gr.1 winner is a half-sister to three winners by Nayef out of the Moyglare Stakes winner Mail The Desert (Lot 259).

Making up the draft is a strong Notnowcato half-sister to the dual listed placed speedster, Smooch, and a host of other talented winners from a mare whose progeny record reads 6 runners, 6 winners (Lot 462); as well as a yearling filly out of Smooch herself by the consistently successful, Royal Applause (Lot 408).

The sales season has started well for Newsells Park Stud with not only Mount Nelsonís yearlings being well received but also their consignment at Arqana Deauville.  The top lot, a half-brother to the multiple Stakes placed Midnight Game, fetched €280,000 when knocked down to KK Eishindo, and the Danehill Dancer colt out of a winning half-sister to the mighty Goldikova sold to Anthony Stroud for €170,000.

We look forward to greeting buyers, old and new, at the DBS Premier Sales.
