Next week's yearling sale at Arqana in Deauville offers the opportunity to view yearlings in the most beautiful setting, and to purchase the first yearlings by a beautiful sire in dual Group 1 winner Mount Nelson.

A 320,000gns yearling himself, Mount Nelson had the precocity to win the Group 1 Criterium International at Saint Cloud as a two-year-old in a new course record. He finished his juvenile season as Ballydoyle's best Classic prospect, reflected in his official rating of 119, making him the 4th highest rated juvenile in Europe.

He then showed the toughness and resilience to come back from injury to win a Group 1 over 10f at four, when winning the Eclipse Stakes in one of the fastest times of the last 20 years, beating Phoenix Tower, Pipe Dreamer, Campanologist, Rob Roy, etc.

Beautifully bred by leading sire, Rock of Gibraltar on the same Danzig / Sharpen Up cross as top class sires, Danehill Dancer and Invincible Spirit, and supported with quality mares from top breeders, Mount Nelson has all the credential to make a top-class sire.
