Comfortable Stakes win for Ocean War

The Newsells bred and sold, Ocean War, was a comfortable winner of the Listed Makfi Newmarket Stakes on Guineas day at Newmarket on Saturday 29th April.

This three-year-old Dalakhani colt was following up his Maiden win earlier in the month at Newmarket for owners Godolphin.

He looks an exciting prospect with entries in the King Edward VII Stakes, Eclipse and Derby.

Trainer Mahmood Al Zarooni said: "He could be a Derby horse.  He's getting better and better, and was still green today."

Sold to John Ferguson at the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale Book One for 320,000gns, Ocean War is out of the Newsells Stakes mare Atlantic Destiny, and is a half-brother to the Royal Ascot two-year-old Seaway.

Atlantic Destiny also has a yearling colt by Monsun, a Pivotal colt foal, and will be covered by Cape Cross this season.
