Aljezeera's victory in the Listed British Stallion Studs EBF Beckford Stakes at Yarmouth on 16th October capped a successful few weeks for Newsells Park Stud.

Bred by the stud, the three-year-old filly travelled strongly throughout to win comfortably for trainer Luca Cumani and owner Al Shaqab Racing.  Runner-up in the Gr.2 Park Hill Stakes at Doncaster last time out, she will stay in training next year and looks an exciting contender for Group races.

Luca Cumani said: "She's done nothing but improve all her life. Her dam won Group 1s at five and six.  Hopefully, we won't have to wait that long.  She's an improving filly, stays well and is a very valuable filly".

Out of the Newsells' mare Dynaforce, Aljezeera is by Frankel, and was also sold by the stud as a yearling for 450,000gns at Tattersalls.

Her half-sister by Invincible Spirit was also bred and sold by the stud recently at the Tattersalls October Book 1 Sale where she realised 160,000gns when knocked down to Klaravich Stables.

Once again Newsells Park Stud was one of the leading consignors at the Tattersalls October Yearling Sales this year, with the highlight being the sale of the Dubawi colt out of the legendary multiple Gr.1 winner Danedream selling to Shadwell Estate Company for 1,500,000gns.  In addition, the full-brother to Secret Gesture realised 1,300,000gns when knocked down to MV Magnier/Mayfair/P&R Doyle (pictured courtesy of Tattersalls).

Other significant results at Tattersalls October Book 1 included a Galileo filly out of the Group winner Maureen fetching 800,000gns when purchased by Godolphin, and White Birch Farm went to 425,000gns to secure the Dubawi colt out of Loveisallyouneed.  By the end of the sale Newsells Park Stud was the second leading consignor with a sales aggregate of 5,962,000gns and average of 425,857gns for 14 yearlings sold.

Newsells also enjoyed excellent results at the Tattersalls October Book 2 Sale, finishing as the third leading consignor with an aggregate of 1,454,000gns and average of 90,857gns for 16 yearlings sold.  The highlight being the sale of the Nathaniel colt out of Langs Lash selling to the China Horse Club for 350,000gns.
